Attention MIT 2014 Applicants
We would like to wish you luck on your admissions! We invite you to use the chat (linked below on the left) during deadlines. Consider it a gift. And some of us may drop by just to say hi. --The MyMIT.info Team

"My Fate"

I am sad to say but I was not offered admission into MIT. Now, I must continue on my journey. It was fun making this hack and making new friendships. Thank you for your support and encouragement over these past couple of months.

This is my final post on MyMIT.info. From now on, you can find me at my regular blog. You can also keep track of me on Twitter. I will also not be participating in the chat room anymore.

Alas, I must now take my leave. Goodbye, MIT. :(

I'm really sorry to hear that; you would have been a great addition to our class. You're still a role model though!

I"M SO SORRYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Colton, you're still a great person and I hope you will do great things in life!! MIT isn't the only thing in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I too was rejected.

I'd like to take this opportunity and tell everyone that this is not the end of the world. MIT was my top choice, as it was for a lot of you, but I do have other choices. Whatever path we take from now on, we should trust that it will lead us to where we want to be in the end.

To those who got accepted, I salute you. May MIT prove to be everything you wish it to be.

To the rest of us, I tip my hat to you. We're all awesome. Let's never forget that.

I too will stop posting to this site.

So I guess this is goodbye.

It's been one heck of a ride.

Sad to hear you're not in.

I'm glad to say, though, that I was offered admission!!!

:D

Best of luck

I was sure you'd get in... You've inspired a lot of us with this site, in one way or another. I'm sure that, wherever you go, you'll do well.
Good luck, to everyone.

GYAAAAH! I'm so sorry! I was really hoping you could join the hacking scene! ;.;

Now I have to wonder if anyone from the site got in. Corey said he got rejected on the real mitadmissions page, too.

i still remember your birthday was 10 days ago. (from didigetintomit forums)

Colton, its really sad that you did not get in. You are a brilliant person and one who will surely go places in life. For all of us, MIT is not the end of life....stay in touch....

@Colton
So where do you think you'll go?

Posted by: Matt A. on March 14, 2009 02:03 PM

I can't actually believe it, not that I haven't gotten in (which I haven't)but that no one I know or came to know over the chat or any form of internet communication got in.

I mean no one.

That is just sad. :(

Posted by: Bilal on March 14, 2009 03:03 PM

@ Bilal:
which leaves us wondering who Did get in.
Buas as many have said before me, life goes on.
There's always transfer or grad school.

What will all those who got rejected be doing now? What is plan B?

Posted by: V on March 14, 2009 03:03 PM

I'm so sorry to hear that. I really thought that you would make it in. Good luck in your future, though. I'm sure that you will succeed in whatever you choose to do.

Posted by: Liz on March 14, 2009 03:03 PM

@v
plan B is: continue plan A

Posted by: comboy on March 14, 2009 03:03 PM

*Buas = But
as you can see, typing skills have died.

@comboy:
so how will you be pursuing plan A?

Posted by: V on March 14, 2009 03:03 PM

Colton,

With your energy and enthusiasm that you've invested into this site, I'm sure that as long as you take this passion and drive with you, you'll succeed no matter where you are.

Keep your prospects up, and I'm sure you'll similarly encounter your bright future elsewhere, even if it's not at MIT.

Thanks for creating this site, though. Many, many, current MIT students were impressed by it.

We're taking it down soon, Chris.

Posted by: Ahana on March 14, 2009 03:03 PM

@Ahana: No. We are keeping this site up because of the amount of work done on it. We didn't spend several months on this project to just delete everything (although I see you have already started with your account). That's why I only set myself as a guest blogger. Keep this site up. If corey doesn't want to pay for it, I will.

This hack made an impact on MIT so what kind of people would we be if out of our fury caused by rejection that we were to just take it down? That doesn't make us look like good people.

So in the end, I vote to keep this site up. I'll even pay for it myself. I've put too much work and time into it to just completely kill it.
